Diskit Monastery

Diskit Monastery, or Diskit Gompa, is one of the largest Buddhist monastery complexes built in the period between the 14th and the 17th centuries that was perched on top of a hill. The highly renowned landmark of the Gompa and the whole town towers to around 100 ft tall statue of the Maitreya Buddha. Other than this, the complex is the house of a six-armed white Mahakala statue that appears formidable.
