This Manali tour package with Shinku La Pass from Chandigarh combines three nights in Manali with a full-day mountain excursion into Lahaul. Travel through Atal Tunnel, follow the valley route towards Jispa and Darcha, and continue to Shinku La where the road is officially open for your vehicle. A separate sightseeing day covers Manali’s temples, forest walks and markets. The package includes Chandigarh pickup and drop, private AC travel, hotel breakfast and dinner, and Tour Manager assistance.
Your holiday begins with the drive from Chandigarh through Kullu Valley. All three overnight stays are in Manali, so you return to the same hotel after both sightseeing days.
The Shinku La excursion follows the Atal Tunnel route into Lahaul and continues through the valley towards Jispa and Darcha. Beyond Darcha, the road climbs towards the pass on the route connecting Lahaul with Zanskar. Brief photo stops depend on the day’s road access and return schedule.
Shinku La, also written as Shinkula or Shingo La, is the main mountain excursion in this itinerary. For a holiday focused on Rohtang instead, compare our Manali tour package with Rohtang Pass from Chandigarh.
Choose the available hotel category that suits your stay preference. Breakfast and dinner are included at the hotel, and your Tour Manager can coordinate vegetarian, non-vegetarian or Jain meal requests with the property.
The Manali sightseeing day includes Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht, the Tibetan monastery, Club House, Van Vihar and Mall Road. Browse our Manali tour packages if you would like to compare other routes or durations.
Shinku La is a high-altitude excursion with a long driving day. The visit must follow current road clearance, vehicle permissions and local travel timings. Days 2 and 3 may be interchanged to suit access and traveller comfort.

Approximate road distance: 260–300 km
Travel planning estimate: 8–10 hours, depending on pickup point, route, traffic and breaks
Meet your driver at Chandigarh Airport, Chandigarh Railway Station or your agreed Chandigarh pickup point. Begin the drive towards Manali, allowing time for meal and comfort breaks along the way.
As you enter Kullu Valley, enjoy views of the Beas River and the surrounding mountains. Short stops at a shawl factory or Kullu’s Vaishno Devi Temple can be fitted in where the arrival schedule allows. Stops around Sundernagar, Pandoh or Hanogi depend on the road taken and available time. River rafting is optional, payable separately and subject to local operation.
Reach Manali, check in to your hotel and relax after the journey. An early Chandigarh pickup gives more flexibility for the first day.
Meals: Dinner
Overnight stay: Manali
Approximate road distance: 130–150 km one way; 260–300 km return
Full-day planning allowance: approximately 12–14 hours or longer, depending on road conditions, brief stops and traffic controls
Start early for the Shinku La excursion. Travel through Solang Valley and Atal Tunnel into Lahaul and continue along the valley road through the Sissu and Tandi–Keylong area towards Jispa and Darcha. Enjoy changing views of rivers, mountain villages and the open Lahaul landscape. Keep photo and comfort stops brief so the pass visit can fit within the permitted travel window.
From Darcha, take the road towards Shinku La, also known as Shinkula or Shingo La. Continue only as far as the authorities allow for the vehicle and the day’s conditions.
Where access to the pass is permitted, spend a short time enjoying the mountain views and taking photographs before beginning the return journey. Accessible snow depends on the season and weather; snow activities, equipment and clothing rentals are separate.
Return to Manali by the same route for dinner and your overnight stay. The excursion does not continue to Padum or other Zanskar destinations.
Your Tour Manager and driver will coordinate the return around official timings. Road closure, unsuitable conditions or insufficient time within the permitted window may require an alternative sightseeing plan, which our team will discuss with you.
Meals: Breakfast and dinner
Overnight stay: Manali
Approximate local circuit: 15–25 km, depending on hotel location and stops
Suggested sightseeing time: 4–6 hours

Visit Club House and Van Vihar, with time for the activities or walks you prefer. Continue to Vashisht Temple and its hot-spring area, then spend time around Mall Road for shopping, a café visit or an evening stroll.
Jogini Waterfall requires a walk from the Vashisht area and additional time. Tell our team before booking if you would like to include the walk so the day can be planned around it. Entry tickets, paid activities and shopping are separate.
Return to the hotel for dinner. The local sightseeing and Shinku La excursion days may be interchanged where needed.

Plan a Shinku La holiday during the officially open road season, generally in the warmer months from late spring or early summer into autumn. Opening dates, road clearance and the permitted tourist endpoint vary each year. Confirm the specific pass route for your dates before booking.
Shinku La can be much colder than Manali, even when the weather in town feels comfortable. Carry warm layers for the excursion. Snow cover and accessible snow areas vary through the season, and snowfall or rain can change the road plan.
The Shinku La excursion follows the Atal Tunnel–Lahaul–Darcha route and current local traffic orders. Vehicle entry registration or an e-pass may be required for entering Lahaul, depending on the applicable arrangements. Your Tour Manager will reconfirm the requirements and permitted vehicle access for your dates. Reaching Lahaul does not by itself confirm access to Shinku La.
Carry warm clothing, a wind-resistant outer layer, comfortable shoes with a good grip, gloves, a cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, personal medicines and a valid photo ID. Keep drinking water and snacks for the long excursion day. Pack essentials in a small day bag.
Arrange your flight, train or road journey to Chandigarh separately. Pickup can be coordinated at Chandigarh Airport, Chandigarh Railway Station or another agreed Chandigarh point. Choose an early arrival where possible and discuss your return connection with our driver before leaving.
Facilities and mobile connectivity become limited on the upper route beyond Darcha. Carry some cash and keep your booking details available offline. Shinku La involves a substantial climb to high altitude, so discuss traveller comfort and any relevant health concerns before choosing this itinerary. Additional rest time or a longer route can be planned when needed.
The four-day itinerary includes Chandigarh pickup and drop, three nights in Manali, a full-day Shinku La excursion via Atal Tunnel and Darcha, and Manali local sightseeing. Hotel breakfast and dinner and the confirmed excursion transport are included. Access to the pass depends on road conditions and official restrictions.
All three nights are in Manali. The Shinku La excursion is a return day trip, so a hotel night in Jispa, Darcha or Zanskar is not included in this itinerary.
Yes. The tour is arranged for your own family, friends or travelling party. The vehicle is selected for your confirmed travellers and route, subject to the requirements for the Shinku La excursion.
Yes. The Shinku La excursion is included in the written itinerary, subject to road opening, permitted vehicle access and local travel timings. Your Tour Manager will reconfirm the arrangements for your date.
Allow a full day with an early departure. For planning, the return road journey is approximately 260–300 km, and the excursion may take 12–14 hours or longer. Your hotel location, road conditions and official movement timings affect the final schedule.
Yes. These names are used for the same high-altitude pass on the route connecting Lahaul with Zanskar through Darcha.
Mostly Yes, Access depends on the conditions and official vehicle restrictions for the date. The vehicle arrangements for the upper route must be reconfirmed with your Tour Manager. A vehicle permitted on the Chandigarh or Manali roads may face different restrictions beyond Darcha.
Your Tour Manager will explain the restriction and discuss sightseeing in the accessible area or a revised itinerary with you. The vehicle will not proceed beyond the officially permitted endpoint.
This itinerary travels into Lahaul through Atal Tunnel and focuses on Shinku La. For a Rohtang excursion, see our Manali tour package with Rohtang Pass from Chandigarh. Any change to this itinerary needs separate confirmation.
The excursion returns from Shinku La to Manali. Travel further into Zanskar, including Padum or Phugtal Monastery, requires a longer, separately planned itinerary.
Three breakfasts and three dinners are included at the hotel as per the itinerary. Share pure vegetarian, non-vegetarian or Jain meal requests when your Tour Manager contacts you so the hotel can confirm the available arrangements. Breakfast timing on the excursion day will be coordinated in advance.
The hotel provides an extra mattress for the third adult alongside the room’s existing beds. If you prefer another room, select that arrangement before confirming the booking.
Selecting 3★ Luxury means a proper 3-star hotel will be provided in the confirmed category. Other available hotel options range from 2★ to 5★, according to your preference and the package selected.
Your assigned Tour Manager will contact you immediately after booking to reconfirm the details. After successful full payment for an online booking, your confirmation and tour voucher will be shared by email and WhatsApp within 01 working day. The same Tour Manager will assist you during the tour.
Your driver will call one day before the tour to confirm your pickup time and location, and arrive at the agreed point at the confirmed time.
