Complete Kinnaur–Spiti–Manali Circuit from Delhi
This Spiti Valley Road Trip Package from Delhi offers a ten-day private circuit that enters Spiti through Shimla and Kinnaur before exiting through Kunzum Pass, Chandratal and Manali.
The route covers Sangla Valley, Chitkul, Kalpa, Nako, Tabo, Dhankar, Kaza and the high-altitude villages surrounding Kaza. The final section passes through Losar, Kunzum Pass, Chandratal, Batal, Chhatru, Gramphu and Atal Tunnel before reaching Manali.
The package includes nine nights’ accommodation, nine breakfasts, nine dinners, a route-suitable private vehicle and sightseeing according to the confirmed itinerary.
Begin with a private journey from Delhi to Shimla before entering Kinnaur through Narkanda, Rampur and Sarahan. Spend two nights in Sangla and visit Kamru, Rakchham and Chitkul. Continue towards Kalpa through Karcham and Reckong Peo and enjoy views of the Kinner Kailash mountain range when the weather is clear. Travel deeper into the Himalayas through Pooh, Khab, Nako and Sumdo. Visit Giu village and its preserved mummy before reaching Tabo. Explore Tabo Monastery and continue towards Kaza through Dhankar. Spend two nights in Kaza and visit Langza, Hikkim, Komic, Key Monastery, Kibber and other accessible attractions. The road from Chandratal and Batal towards Manali is one of the roughest sections of the tour. It requires a suitable vehicle, an experienced mountain driver, an early departure and flexibility regarding travel time. The nala crossing on the Chandratal approach that previously caused repeated interruption because of increased water flow has been improved for the current operating season. However, this improvement does not make the complete road all-weather. Heavy rainfall, fresh snowfall, water flow, landslides or official restrictions can still close the route. Travellers interested only in Kinnaur can consider the Kinnaur Tour Package from Delhi. Those starting closer to Himachal can view the Spiti Valley Road Trip from Chandigarh. Entering through Shimla, Sangla, Kalpa and Tabo provides a more gradual increase in sleeping altitude than entering directly from the Manali side. This route can support acclimatisation, but it cannot eliminate the possibility of altitude illness. Travellers must monitor their health and immediately report symptoms to the Tour Manager and driver. Explore Sangla Valley, Kamru village, Rakchham, Chitkul and accessible areas around the Baspa River. Continue towards Kalpa for village surroundings, apple orchards, temples, monasteries and views of the Kinner Kailash range. Mountain visibility depends on the weather and cannot be guaranteed. Visit Nako Lake and Nako Monastery according to available time and public access. Proceed towards Giu village to see the preserved mummy, subject to road conditions and the attraction being open. Tabo is known for its historic monastery complex. Continue towards Dhankar village and monastery before travelling to Kaza. Spend a full day exploring Langza, Hikkim, Komic, Key Monastery and Kibber. Day 01 · Delhi to Shimla – Beginning of the Spiti Circuit
Pickup will be provided from Delhi Airport, Railway Station, a hotel or another agreed location within Delhi.
Meet your driver and begin the private road journey towards Shimla through Chandigarh, Kalka and Solan.
The approximate road distance is 340–370 kilometres, and the drive generally takes 8–10 hours depending on the pickup location, traffic, weather and road conditions.
Suitable comfort and meal breaks will be provided during the journey.
If arrival time, daylight and traffic conditions permit, visit Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple before proceeding to the hotel.
Arrive in Shimla, check in at the hotel and relax.

Day 02 · Shimla to Sangla via Narkanda, Rampur and Sarahan
After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the journey towards Sangla.
Travel through Kufri, Narkanda and Rampur before taking the connecting route towards Sarahan.
Visit Bhimakali Temple subject to departure time, temple timings, traffic and road conditions.
The approximate route distance is 230–260 kilometres when Sarahan is covered. The complete journey generally takes 9–11 hours, including sightseeing and suitable breaks.
Continue through the Sutlej Valley towards Karcham and take the connecting road into Sangla Valley.
Arrive in Sangla, check in at the hotel and relax after the long journey.

Day 03 · Sangla, Kamru, Rakchham and Chitkul Sightseeing
After breakfast, begin private sightseeing around Sangla Valley.
Visit Kamru village and walk towards the Kamru Fort complex. The package vehicle will travel only to the nearest accessible road point, after which uphill walking is required.
Continue through the Baspa Valley towards Rakchham and Chitkul.
Spend time around the accessible village areas, Mathi Temple surroundings and the Baspa River. Chitkul is situated at approximately 3,450 metres above sea level.
Travellers should walk slowly, remain hydrated and avoid entering fast-flowing water or restricted riverbank areas.
The Chitkul visit remains subject to snowfall, road conditions and permission issued by the local authorities.
Return to Sangla after sightseeing.

Day 04 · Sangla to Kalpa via Karcham and Reckong Peo

The approximate road distance is 45–55 kilometres, and the drive generally takes 2–3 hours depending on traffic, road conditions and sightseeing stops.
Travel through Karcham and continue towards Reckong Peo. Spend time around the accessible market area before proceeding to Kalpa.
After hotel check-in, explore Kalpa village, Narayan-Nagini Temple, the local monastery and accessible viewpoints according to available time.
Visit Roghi village and the viewpoint popularly known as Suicide Point, subject to road conditions and local restrictions. Travellers must remain behind safety barriers and avoid unsafe photography near steep edges.
Views of the Kinner Kailash range depend on the weather and cannot be guaranteed.

Day 05 · Kalpa to Tabo via Pooh, Khab, Nako and Giu

Travel through Powari and Pooh towards Khab. Stop near the accessible viewpoint overlooking the confluence of the Sutlej and Spiti rivers, subject to safe parking conditions.
Continue towards Nako and visit Nako Lake and Nako Monastery according to available time and public access.
Proceed through the protected border region towards Sumdo. Take the connecting road towards Giu village and visit the preserved mummy, subject to road conditions, attraction timings and local access.
Continue towards Tabo, check in at the hotel and relax.
Foreign nationals must carry the required Protected Area Permit and travel documents for this route.

Day 06 · Tabo to Kaza via Tabo Monastery and Dhankar
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit Tabo Monastery.
Temple rooms, prayer halls, caves and other areas may be accessed according to monastery timings, religious ceremonies and instructions issued by the monastery administration.
Continue towards Dhankar village and visit the accessible monastery and village areas.
The road towards Dhankar is narrow and may be affected by weather or maintenance work. The package vehicle will operate only to the point considered safe and permitted.
Dhankar Lake requires a separate uphill trek and is not included in the standard transfer-day itinerary.
Continue towards Kaza. The complete route with sightseeing generally takes 4–6 hours, depending on road conditions and time spent at each attraction.
Arrive in Kaza, check in at the hotel and rest.
Dinner and overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 07 · Local Sightseeing around Kaza Kaza-Hikkim-Lalung-Langza-Key-Kibber (5 – 6 hours drivetime)
After breakfast, begin a full-day excursion around Kaza and the surrounding high-altitude villages.
Visit Langza for its village surroundings, Buddha statue and mountain views.
Continue towards Hikkim and visit the well-known high-altitude post office, subject to its operating hours and road access.
Proceed towards Komic and explore the accessible village and monastery surroundings according to local customs.
Continue towards Key Monastery, followed by Kibber village.
Chicham Bridge may also be covered if time, weather, road conditions and local access permit.
This excursion reaches very high elevations. Travellers should walk slowly, remain hydrated and avoid excessive physical activity.
The order of sightseeing may be changed by the driver according to weather, traffic and road conditions.
Return to Kaza in the evening.

Day 08 · Kaza to Chandratal via Losar and Kunzum Pass
After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the journey towards Chandratal.
The approximate road distance is 90–110 kilometres, and the drive generally takes 5–7 hours or longer because of rough surfaces, narrow sections and high-altitude conditions.
Travel through Losar and complete any applicable checkpoint formalities.
Continue towards Kunzum Pass, situated at approximately 4,550 metres above sea level. Stop near Kunzum Mata Temple according to weather, parking availability and road safety.
Proceed through Batal towards the Chandratal approach road.
The nala crossing that previously caused interruptions during increased water flow has been improved for the current operating season. Nevertheless, Chandratal access remains subject to rainfall, snowfall, water flow and official road permission.
Visit Chandratal Lake from the nearest permitted parking point. Walking is required for the final approach.
After sightseeing, proceed to the confirmed seasonal camp in the permitted Chandratal camping area or to Batal accommodation.
The camp is not situated directly on the protected lake shore.
Dinner and overnight stay near Chandratal or at Batal.
Day 09 · Chandratal to Manali via Batal, Chhatru and Atal Tunnel
After an early breakfast, check out from the camp or accommodation and begin the journey towards Manali.
The approximate road distance is 110–130 kilometres, but the journey generally takes 7–10 hours or longer depending on road conditions, water crossings, traffic and weather.
Travel through Batal, Chhatru and Gramphu. This section is extremely rough and time-consuming, with uneven surfaces and limited facilities.
A sedan or small car is not suitable for this route. Travellers must remain seated where instructed, wear seat belts where available and avoid requesting stops at unsafe locations.
Continue through Koksar and Atal Tunnel towards Manali.
The direct route uses Atal Tunnel and does not include Rohtang Pass. Solang Valley sightseeing cannot be guaranteed on this demanding transfer day.
Arrive in Manali, check in at the hotel and relax.

Day 10 · Manali to Delhi – Departure
After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the private return journey towards Delhi.
The approximate road distance is 500–570 kilometres, and the journey generally takes 11–13 hours depending on the drop location, route, traffic, weather and road conditions.
Suitable comfort and meal breaks will be provided during the journey. Additional sightseeing cannot be guaranteed on the departure day.
Drop will be provided at Delhi Airport, Railway Station, a hotel or another agreed location within Delhi.
Travellers should maintain sufficient time before any onward flight, train or bus.

Best Time for the Complete Circuit
The complete Shimla–Kinnaur–Spiti–Chandratal–Manali circuit operates only when Kunzum Pass, Chandratal and the Batal–Gramphu road are officially open.June to September is commonly considered the main planning period. Operation may sometimes extend into early October, depending entirely on snowfall, water flow and official permission.The Shimla–Kinnaur–Kaza route may remain accessible for a longer period, but the Chandratal–Manali exit is highly seasonal.No opening or closing date can be guaranteed in advance.
Road and Route Conditions
The Delhi–Shimla and Shimla–Kinnaur sections include regular highways along with narrow mountain roads.The Kinnaur and Spiti sections may be affected by landslides, shooting stones, road repairs and security checks.The route between Kaza, Kunzum Pass, Chandratal, Batal, Chhatru and Gramphu includes extremely rough stretches. Distance alone should not be used to estimate travelling time.The driver’s safety decision will remain final regarding departure time, stopping points and whether a particular road can be attempted.
Chandratal Access
Chandratal Lake, the approach road and seasonal camps are accessible only after official opening.The previously problematic nala crossing on the Chandratal approach has been improved for the current operating season. This does not prevent closure caused by another water crossing, snowfall, rainfall, landslides or administrative restrictions.If Chandratal becomes inaccessible, the lake visit and camp stay may be replaced with the safest practical alternative. Any major route change may involve additional cost.
High Altitude and Acclimatisation
This itinerary travels from Delhi to locations situated above 3,000 and 4,000 metres.Tabo is situated at approximately 3,050 metres, Kaza at approximately 3,800 metres, Kunzum Pass at approximately 4,550 metres and Chandratal at approximately 4,300 metres.Headache, nausea, dizziness, unusual tiredness, loss of appetite, confusion or breathlessness can indicate altitude-related illness.Travellers must immediately inform the driver and Tour Manager if symptoms develop. Continuing towards a higher location against medical or safety advice is not permitted.Travellers with heart, lung, blood-pressure or other relevant medical conditions should consult their doctor before booking. Medicines should be taken only according to medical advice.
Chandratal Camp Facilities
The Chandratal stay is seasonal and comparatively basic.Electricity may be supplied for limited hours. Mobile connectivity is generally unavailable, and hot water or heating may be limited.Tent type, bedding, washroom arrangement and meal plan will be mentioned in the confirmed voucher.
Permits and Identification
Indian citizens generally do not require a Protected Area Permit for the standard tourist circuit but must carry valid government-issued photo identification and complete any registration required for the current season.Foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit for designated protected areas on the Kinnaur–Spiti route.Passport, visa and permit requirements must be completed before entering the protected region. Permit approval cannot be guaranteed merely because a tour has been booked.
Packing Guide
Carry layered thermals, a heavy jacket, waterproof outerwear, gloves, warm socks and sturdy walking shoes.Also carry sunscreen, UV-protection sunglasses, lip balm, moisturiser, a reusable water bottle, personal medicines, valid identification and a power bank.A torch, small daypack, dry snacks and sufficient cash are recommended for remote sections.
Mobile Network, ATMs and Fuel
Mobile connectivity may be available in larger towns such as Reckong Peo and Kaza but can remain weak or completely unavailable on remote roads and around Chandratal.ATMs and digital payment facilities may be unreliable. Travellers should carry sufficient cash for meals, entrance tickets and emergency requirements.Fuel availability is limited on parts of the route. The driver will manage planned refuelling according to the vehicle and current route.

Select an available travel date, hotel category, number of travellers, required rooms and an eligible route-suitable vehicle.
Dates should be available for online booking only after the Kunzum–Chandratal–Manali route has been operationally verified.
Normal online bookings are available for up to 24 travellers. Groups of 25 or more travellers should submit a group booking enquiry.
After successful payment and verification, the booking confirmation and tour voucher will be shared by email and WhatsApp within one working day. A dedicated Tour Manager will also be assigned.
